Labtopia 2026
The lab's first ever sample processing party with live DJing!
As our final push to finish grinding and sieving as many of Jesse's soil samples as possible before she leaves for Chile for nine months, the DECOMP Lab held our first ever sample processing party with live DJing! Before the show started, we were treated to a Woodstock's feast with three different types of pizza and relaxed a bit after already having processed samples for a few hours. With our stomachs full and ears ready to be impressed, the show began after lunch!
Our two DJs were the incredibly talented DJ Krypton and DJ KK, also known as Caroline and Kathryn. Lab members and attendees got to continue grinding and sieving while enjoying expertly mixed songs from several different genres, including EDM, pop, and rap. Over the course of the day, we were able to finish processing many samples and are now a big step closer to having all of Jesse's samples ready to be analyzed. Labtopia was an exciting conclusion to a very busy quarter! We'll miss Jesse while she's in Chile!
