Sample Collection Celebration Social

After spending five consecutive, sampling-intensive days out in Camarillo's Camlam Farm, the DECOMP Lab got to celebrate the completion of the wet season sampling for Jesse's avocado project by having a social near Campus Point. Although field work, and especially augering soils, is rarely easy, each sampling day was always an exciting and very rewarding opportunity to get our hands dirty, listen to good music, chat about a wide variety of interesting topics, and enjoy some delicious sandwiches (thank you Jesse and Luke!). The lab now is now almost bursting with soil samples, which will commence another round of grinding and sieving to prepare samples for data collection.

During the social, attendees had a fun time catching up, enjoying Costco pizza and snacks, watching surfers run towards the abnormally gigantic waves at Campus Point, and even doing a bit of bird watching!
